Baidu to Shut Down Baidu Talk Microblog Platform

Shanghai Morning Post, 8/09/11

Chinese internet company Baidu (Nasdaq: BIDU) announced last night that it would officially close its "Baidu Talk" microblogging product to new updates, and would begin shutting down all Baidu Talk services as of August 22.

When asked how users could back up their Baidu Talk posts, Baidu responded that there would be no export function available and that users would have to copy their updates to other services manually.
