China is seeing a huge boost as a base for legal process outsourcing. Many venture capitalists have realized the potential of China as the LPO hub and are investing heavily. Also, the presence of multiple multinational companies with their primary markets in the United States and Europe raises the need for local legal assistance, thereby providing companies with flexibility while avoiding geographical hurdles. The presence of a large talent pool at low cost and with increasing number of English speakers has helped in creating a new base for legal process outsourcing.
Being on the other side of the world gives China the ability to work round the clock and get more work done. The Chinese government is spending a lot of money to get Chinese lawyers trained in the United States. India, which was till now considered the LPO hub, is seeing rising threat from Chinese LPOs.
The Chinese legal system is completely different from American law schools. Hence, this makes it essential for a Chinese LPO worker to be trained in American Law Schools. An LSAT test is required for admission into American law schools, Canadian schools, and some other law schools around the world. The American law schools have lately seen a huge influx of Chinese students. An LSAT prep course can be conducted by the government to prepare Chinese candidates to be able to get admitted into top law schools.
LSAT is useful for measuring the probability of a candidate's success in a law school. It is designed to test the reading and comprehension skills, critical thinking ability, and many other parameters. These parameters are very essential for every law student to be considered for a law degree.
However, problems arising from communication barriers, cultural differences, hidden costs and other disadvantages cannot be overlooked when considering China as the next big potential LPO.
